NEW RENTAL PROPERTY LAW

NOW IN EFFECT

A new Ohio law requires owners of residential rental property to provide information about the properties to county auditor’s offices. The law applies to all rental properties, including single-unit rental properties.

While there is no associated fee, owners must now register rental properties and update contact information with the county auditor within 10 days of any change. Failure to do so will be considered a minor misdemeanor.
